Tuesdays in Thomas is back! We’ve got a great post for today, let’s see what fun stuff there is to do during fall in Tucker County WV. From exploring waterfalls to epic hikes in the mountains, you’re sure to have a great time.
Front Street Thomas
Just a few minutes from our house is the cutest street in the county. Front Street Thomas is full of beautiful art, unique shops and great food. It’s the perfect place to visit rain or shine. Don’t forget to grab your coffee from Tip Top at their new location! Eat some great pizza at Wood Fired Pizza and get dessert down the street at Macy Lou’s Gourmet Apple Co. You’re sure to find all kinds of treasures for your heart and your stomach!
All the Hiking your Heart Desires
There are a ton of trails to explore while visiting Tucker County. With thousands of acres to explore Canaan Valley and Blackwater Falls State Parks have great views! Pendleton Point is a very accessible overlook and has the best views any time of day.
Blackwater Falls
Perhaps one of the most popular destinations in Tucker County is this 62 foot cascading waterfall whose black water flows through the canyon. Pack a picnic lunch and enjoy walking down the steps to view this gorgeous beauty during peak color. You can also explore other trails or stay for the weekend at the newly renovated lodge!
Visit a Pumpkin Patch
It’s one of my favorite places ever to visit during the fall. In the nearby Grant County, just 30 minutes from Thomas is the infamous pumpkin patch, Cherry Brooke Farm. We always have the best time exploring the farm, choosing fall decorations and eating their kettle corn!
Watch A Sunset
Maybe one of the best places to watch the sun go down is Pendleton Point or Lindy Point in Blackwater Falls. How the sun sets over the canyon is just something magical to witness. I love watching the sunset anywhere, especially in the fall. There’s just something about how it shines over those West Virginia Hills!
Come and visit Tucker County this fall. There are plenty of things to do, places to eat and fun views to see. We are so blessed to live and enjoy our small town with no stop lights or fast food places 365 days a year. Don’t miss out, it’s great to come and “get tucker’d” this fall!
xoxo,
Zoe
