Jess + Matt | An Epic Proposal at Dolly Sods

[dropcap]A[/dropcap]bout a week ago, I got a phone call from Matt’s dad saying that he was helping his son plan the proposal of a lifetime. At the time, I was unsure that I’d have the day available, but after hearing all about Matt’s epic plan to propose to Jess, I knew I had to be a part of it.

Matt is graduating from WVU School of Law this year and he told Jess that he and his dad wanted to get some amazing graduation pictures on Dolly Sods. Since Tucker County is such a special place to them, she decided to tag along for some pictures of just the two of them. Perfect!

Jess and Matt are just adorable!! On our drive up together to Dolly Sods, I learned all about their sweet story. They have been together for about a year and a half. According to Matt’s Dad, they’re just made for each other. It was so fun knowing what was about to unfold riding in the car with them as we made the trip together up the mountain.

After the small trek down windy West Virginia roads and up the mountain, we made it to one of their favorite overlooks. It may have been only 40 degrees with some snow flurries and sunshine, but I knew what an epic moment this would be. The wind was INSANE! We couldn’t really hear each other and I said a quick prayer that it would calm down enough for me to give them a little bit of direction before he got down on one knee… Somehow all the elements aligned. Matt pulled out the most gorgeous Tiffany ring, and Jess was shocked. She had no idea!!! The sun and clouds were just right, even with the wind, it was AMAZING!! Some of my favorite shots I’ve ever taken.

He even had Thomasyard make her a bouquet of her favorite flowers, yellow roses! My heart was exploding with joy for them.

The rest of our time together, Jess just kept saying “I still am just in shock! How did you do this?!”

Congratulations, again you guys!! What an honor it was to photograph this amazing time in your life!! Happy wedding planning!

xoxo,
Zoe
